Domain Rank

A Domain's Rank is a measure of its combatative strength, as defined by its Vassals.

When a Domain first enters PvP, it begins at Rank 1. It is possible to be lowered to Rank 0. There is no maximum Rank at this time.

Domains may fight only within their Rank - more on this in the Aggressing section. Additionally, Domains gain bonuses depending on their Rank.

Privileges of Rank

Rank Points

Rank is increased by accumulating Rank Points. Whenever you win an Aggress against another Domain, you earn 1 Rank Point, and they lose 1 Rank Point.

When a Domain has accumulated 10 Rank Points it automatically Ranks-up, and its Rank Points are reset to 0.

When a Domain has -10 Rank Points, it automatically Ranks-down, and its Rank Points are reset to 0.

Aggressing

You may Aggress any Domain that is your same Rank. Doing so costs 1 Mana per 5 levels of the Domain.

You must choose a Vassal to Aggress the Domain with. Any Vassal that is not out searching may be picked.

The chosen Vassal will then fight against a Vassal from the target Domain. The defending Vassal is not chosen by you, but by the defending Domain in advance - more on this in the Defending section.

It is possible that the target Domain does not have a Vassal available to defend. In this case, the win is automatic.

If your Vassal wins the battle, you gain a Rank Point. Losing incurs no penalty, other than the spent Mana, and the implication that the target Domain may be able to Aggress you successfully.

After Aggressing, you may not Aggress again for one hour.

Hey! Remember that Pantheon Bonuses apply to these battles!

Defending

If your Domain is Aggressed, a Vassal will be automatically chosen to defend your Domain. A Vassal is picked according to the following rules:

  1. If you have marked any Vassals as "defending" (you may do so from the Vassal management page), one of these Vassals will be picked to defend at random.

  2. Failing the above, an available (non-searching) Vassal is picked to defend at random.

  3. Failing the above, all of your Vassals will rush back from searching (automatically failing at the task), and one of them will be picked to defend at random.

If your Vassal loses when you are Aggressed, your Domain loses a Rank Point, however, you can only lose a maximum of 1 Rank Point per hour. Two Domains might still Aggress you within an hour of each other, win, and each earn a Rank Point, but you would only lose 1 Rank Point, for the first of the two.
