To find more Land and Treasure you must send a Vassal off to search for some.
You can call the Vassal back after any amount of time, however the longer you let them search the better their chances of finding something, and the better their chances of finding something high-quality.
A higher Vassal Level similarly improves these chances, however time spent is the greatest factor in determining whether or not something is found, while Vassal Level is the greatest factor in determining the quality of the find.
A Vassal that spends less than an hour searching is guaranteed to return empty-handed. The chances remain fairly low until about 12 hours of searching time, especially for low-level Vassals.
After 24 hours of searching, any additional time will have very little effect on the chances of success or quality of the find.
There are some things which can only be found by high-level Vassals.
Vassals which are out searching will not be available for other activities (such as training in The Wild).
